Need an Escape? Washington Wine Country Is the Perfect Destination

You probably think of Seattle as the ultimate destination in Washington State. While the city has a lot of great attractions, it’s not what we would call a “peaceful getaway.” If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in the Pacific Northwest, head to Washington Wine Country! Yakima, WA, is the state’s premier wine region and boasts hundreds of acres of vineyards. It’s also less than a three-hour drive from the big city, so it’s possible to experience the best of both worlds during your Washington State getaway.

Top 4 Things to Do In Washington Wine Country

1. Visit a Winery

As Washington’s Wine Country, it’s only fitting that guests visit a winery, or several, during their trip! Yakima Valley is home to more than 100 wineries, so you have your choice of award-winning blends. Two of our favorite Yakima Valley wineries are Treveri Cellars and Two Mountain Winery.

Treveri Cellars is a bit of a different experience, as these winemakers specialize in sparkling wines! Two Mountain Winery boasts a more traditional experience. Both wineries are located a short drive from our Inn!

2. Sip Local Brews

Did you know that Yakima is responsible for 75 percent of the nation’s domestically produced hops? That’s right! You can also sip on a wide variety of frothy creations during your trip to Washington Wine Country, which, we could fairly be called “Washington Beer Country” but we’ve digressed. Be sure to check out our favorite breweries in Yakima, WA

Another great way to get acquainted with our area is to dine! It’s especially an especially easy endeavor for Birchfield Manor guests. Our Inn features a 5-star restaurant on-site!
