chef's blognotes from our chef
The holidays are such a special time for me and my family. Growing up in the Yakima Valley, I look back at all the white Christmas' and family traditions that come with this time of year. Sledding, building snowmen and snow angels, hot chocolate, and warm fires in the stone fireplace at Dad's house. As a chef, I know how holiday meals create fond memories and family favorites that pass down from generation to generation. No other holiday tradition is celebrated as a family as the meal around the table.
Like everyone else, I get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays and don't take the time to slow down, spend time with my family and friends, and enjoy the magic of the season. Whether you spend time this holiday in the beautiful Pacific Northwest or wherever you hang your hat, invite a loved one to take in a quick dinner and a glass of wine or make a family favorite in your home with a hot toddy. Lip sync to some good ole fashion Christmas music and dance like there's no one watchin' ! No other time of year is as special and as meaningful as the holidays.
Make new memories this holiday season!
